Steel Grit is an angular metallic abrasive produced by crushing bearing steel. Steel Grit is used for descaling,
coating and corrosion removal, and surface etching. The angular particle shape provides a fast cleaning rate andĀ
an angular surface profile.
Steel Grit is tempered to three different hardnesses. The hardest material, GH, is designed for use exclusively
in air blasting equipment, stone cutting. The two softer materials, GL and GP, may also be used in centrifugalĀ
wheel blast equipment.
Steel Grit Application:
Steel grit Blasting Cleaning:
Steel shot and grit are used in cleaning applications for removal of loose material on metal surfaces. This type of cleaning is common in automotive industry (motor blocks, cylinder heads, etc.).
Steel grit Stone cutting:
Steel grit is used in cutting hard stones, such as granite. The grit is used in large multi-blade frames which cut the blocks of granite into thin slices.
